Dorchester Literary Festival 2017Volunteering At Dorchester Literary Festival

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to work at this year’s Dorchester Literary Festival.

The festival will run from 16th - 20th October 2019, and will feature a host of prominent writers, poets and political minds.

As a volunteer, you’ll be allowed free entry to all of our events (subject to available space). You may also have the chance to meet some of the authors and we’ll provide refreshments throughout your shifts.

Volunteer work looks great on the CV, and we’re happy to give references if you want. The work is not difficult, but is essential to the smooth running of events. You might be responsible for ticket-selling, ushering, dealing with enquiries from the public, assisting authors and publishers, or set moving and cleaning.

This year we are looking for volunteers who can work a minimum of two shifts.

If you’d like to apply to be a volunteer, please complete and submit the online form by mid September.

Kate Adie's Desert Island Books was thoroughly enjoyable! I had no idea she was (a) so glamorous and (b) so delightfully funny.

My wife and I really enjoyed our first visit to DLF to hear Henry Bloefeld. Having looked through the programme further we wished we should have chosen more, but at least we shall try to get the books via the Library. Looking forward to seeing next year’s programme.

I very much enjoyed giving my talk and meeting you and all your colleagues. I can think of no way you could have been more accommodating.

All of us in the Hardy Society were very positive about 'our' first night and the subsequent events. I thought Tony's event with Rachel and Dinah worked very well with interesting conversations from the both of the women.

You and Paul must be very happy with the positive way Dorchester people are continuing to embrace the Festival, and in impressively increasing numbers. Congratulations to both of you.

Next year's dates are already in our diaries and we are looking forward to meeting up with you soon to discuss our involvement.
