Penny Junor The Duchess

The Duchess Hardcover by In her relationship with Charles that has survived for more than forty years, Camilla’s story has seen a great many myths. This book is the definitive account, authorised by the Palace.

The relationship between Charles, Prince of Wales and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, is one of the most remarkable love stories of the age. It has survived more than 40 years, endured against all the odds and nearly destroyed the British monarchy. It is a rich and remarkable story that has never been properly told – indeed, it is one of the most extraordinary, star- crossed love stories of the past fifty years.

I SO enjoyed yesterday. It was a real pleasure to meet you all and what a lovely festival, lovely venue and lovely audience. And Jason was just brilliant. Thank you very, very much for inviting me.

I was particularly delighted by how many of the audience seemed to know and appreciate my work. As you know, authors are solitary creatures - mostly - and for me at least it's a real pleasure to have good reason to leave my work-room (a shed in the garden with a too-seductive view of the Cambrians) and meet and talk with readers and fellow writers (not forgetting that many of us are both).

I thoroughly enjoyed all six events I attended and would have done many more if my time had allowed. Congratulations to all the people involved for a very well organised event. I am most certainly looking forward to next year's events calendar- the dates are already in my diary.

My wife and I really enjoyed our first visit to DLF to hear Henry Bloefeld. Having looked through the programme further we wished we should have chosen more, but at least we shall try to get the books via the Library. Looking forward to seeing next year’s programme.

Congratulations to the whole Lit Fest team. I am glad it has been such a well-deserved success! The huge effort put into it is very clear to see, it is great when that is acknowledged and rewarded! We have been very happy to host the event -we are all very proud to be involved with the Lit Fest...
