Dr Tony Fincham and Mark Ford discuss Hardy's landscapes

Mark Ford's recent publications include the poetry collection Enter, Fleeing (Faber & Faber) and This Dialogue of One: Essays on Poets from John Donne to Joan Murray (Eyewear). He is currently writing a book on Thomas Hardy's poems about Emma.

Dr Tony Fincham is the Chairman of the Thomas Hardy Society. His book is an easy to follow introduction to Hardy’s Wessex – ‘the partly-real, partly-dream country’ of his novels and poetry, containing a series of walks based upon the texts of his novels including Far from the Madding Crowd, Tess of the d’Urbervilles, The Mayor of Casterbridge, The Return of the Native and The Woodlanders, with detailed references to Hardy’s poetic locations.

Congratulations to the whole Lit Fest team. I am glad it has been such a well-deserved success! The huge effort put into it is very clear to see, it is great when that is acknowledged and rewarded! We have been very happy to host the event -we are all very proud to be involved with the Lit Fest...

I thought the event had a really good feel to it - and people couldn't have been friendlier and more welcoming. Good luck with future events.
