Anthony Burt Creative Writing Workshop for 12-16 year olds

Anthony Burt is a qualified youth worker, screenwriter, journalist, and children's author originally from Weymouth. He's written scripts for Doctor Who comics, trained professional scriptwriters in Los Angeles, and just entertained 8000 children this August as host of the Imagination Lab at the Edinburgh Book Festival.

Anthony has written and edited children's books for Harper Collins, Disney, Nickelodeon, and Macmillan and he's currently working on a top secret middle-grade adventure series for a publisher!

Anthony enjoys being a writer because you're allowed to let your imagination run wild. So, come and join him for an exciting, fun, inspirational - and most probably a bit weird - trip into your wild imagination and learn how to create amazing characters and stories, and see how your ideas can go from a book or script and onto the screen!

Anthony's creative writing workshop is aimed at 12-16 year olds.

I attended 4 events, next year I will want to attend even more talks.
A friend came to stay with us and she was equally impressed by the talks she attended.

My wife and I really enjoyed our first visit to DLF to hear Henry Bloefeld. Having looked through the programme further we wished we should have chosen more, but at least we shall try to get the books via the Library. Looking forward to seeing next year’s programme.

Kate Adie's Desert Island Books was thoroughly enjoyable! I had no idea she was (a) so glamorous and (b) so delightfully funny.

Congratulations to the whole Lit Fest team. I am glad it has been such a well-deserved success! The huge effort put into it is very clear to see, it is great when that is acknowledged and rewarded! We have been very happy to host the event -we are all very proud to be involved with the Lit Fest...
