An eye-opening insight into the human psyche from a leading forensic psychologist.

Kerry Daynes has worked with some of the most complex and challenging criminals in prisons and secure hospitals, as well as victims of crime. A large part of her day job is working to reduce the impact of crime on society by delving into the psyche of the men and women convicted of brutal acts of violence, to try to understand the psychological processes behind the criminal act and provide treatment to set them on a path to becoming law-abiding citizens.

Drawing on her case files from the frontline, she offers readers an unforgettable insight into the psychological causes behind some of the most extreme forms of human behaviour, and what the incarceration of those who transgress says about society.
