Dr Jon Copley  Ask An Ocean Explorer

How deep do sharks swim? Have more people been into space then the deep ocean? And what effect are we having on the health of our seas? Our everyday lives are connected to the deep ocean in ways we seldom realise. In Ask An Ocean Explorer Dr Jon Copley, marine biologist of over 20 years and advisor for the BBC's Blue Planet II, explains the science and wonder of the deep ocean, answering these questions and more he combines the untold history of ocean exploration with a personal account of what it’s like to be a ‘bathynaut’, dive in a mini-submarine and encounter the weird and wonderful creatures of the deep.

This Year's Events

Feedback

I thoroughly enjoyed all six events I attended and would have done many more if my time had allowed. Congratulations to all the people involved for a very well organised event. I am most certainly looking forward to next year's events calendar- the dates are already in my diary.

I very much enjoyed the events I came to at the Dorchester  Literary festival. It was all very well organised. The sessions on The Seabird's cry, Bee Quest, and The Otter's Tale were brilliant.
